• At the London Scottish Piping Society competition in November, Bruce was 2nd in both the Bratach Gorm and the Gillies Cup for piuobaireachd. Even more amazing that obtaining such a high prize in both events on a single day is the fact that the first and second prizes in the two events were won by the same pipers: Stuart Liddell and Bruce!
• Bruce took 2nd prize in the piobaireachd at the Glenfiddich Championship, and finished 4th overall. He was one of the ten pipers selected from the past year to compete in the year's most prestigious solo bagpiping event by virtue of winning the United States Piping Foundation Overall championship in June.
